Democrats At It Again!!

"House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland were two of many House Democrats trying in vain to keep the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act from passing this week, and they were willing to resort to outright lies in their effort to do so. Actually, that’s not quite right.

Pelosi surely told a few fibs on her way to arguing against the bill, but she saved her biggest whoppers for Twitter after the House passed it 231 to 198. At that point, she took to social media and gave us this load of elephant
dung:

Er, no.
Nothing in the concealed carry bill would allow any of the named groups to start buying guns or even having guns, which is already prohibited by law. This bill does not address the legal rights of those groups of offenders, much less roll back the bans already in place for felons of that nature.
Pelosi is either demonstrating how little she knows about the bill she just voted to stop (unlikely, but possible) or she is lying through her teeth to make her lunatic liberal followers believe that the Republican Party is dangerous and out of control (much more likely).
Then we have Raskin, who took to the House floor with his deceptions. Arguing against the bill, Raskin made a number of claims that don’t pass the laugh test. At one point, the Maryland Democrat used a common liberal lie when he vastly inflated the number of mass shootings there had been in the United States this year.
“Since January,” he said, “we’ve had 397 gun massacres in America, defined as a slaying of 4 people or more. The American people want to end this reign of terror but what do our friends do on the other side?”
Um, open the floodgates for everyone in America to die at the hands of psycho lunatics? Do we get a gold star?
We’re not sure what the number of mass shootings has to do with a simple piece of legislation that merely aims to make sure lawful gun owners don’t get pinched by a ridiculous interstate patchwork of varying laws, but even assuming there is some vague correlation, it might help to cite the correct stats. As it happens, there have only been 40 shootings this year that claimed the lives of 4 or more people, meaning that Raskin was off by about 350 shootings.
But you know, close enough for government work as they say."
