The governmental safety net has three basic components: 1) Social Security and Medicare for the elderly; 2) unemployment insurance and worker’s compensation; and 3) anti-poverty or means-tested welfare programs.  My testimony will deal with the means- tested welfare system which could also be called comprehensive assistance to the poor. The means-tested welfare system consists of 79 federal programs providing cash, food, housing, medical care, social services, training, and targeted education aid to poor and low income Americans. And in the last two days, in two separate speeches, Obama has mistakenly talked about “my sons” in defending his mandate to force Catholics and Catholic institutions to act against the teachings of their faith in buying and providing health plans that pay for sterilizations, contraceptives, and abortifacients. "President Barack Obama has again threatened the Supreme Court over ObamaCare - this time indicating that if the Court does not rule his way, he will take his revenge on senior citizens by destroying Medicare. Martha McCallum of Fox News reports that the "Administration has been sending 'missives' to the Supreme Court threatening that if it doesn't rule in Obama's favor on the healthcare law; Medicare will face disruption and 'Chaos.' Apparently, should the Supreme Court fail to submit to Obama's demands, and rather chooses to rule in favor of the Constitution , Obama & Co will begin a campaign to destroy Medicare Payments to doctors and hospitals. This isn't the first time Barack has threatened the court over ObamaCare. When President George Bush was president, he took a strong stand with Iran and their nuclear program.  He led the efforts to place a number of strict UN sanctions against Iran pending the suspension of their uranium enrichment program. Shortly after taking office in 2009, Barack Obama decided to take a different approach with Iran.  Instead of the strong stance of the Bush administration, Obama chose to try peaceful negotiations.  At the time it was believed that Iran was in possession of 1.3 tons of low-enriched uranium considered to be only about 3.5% enriched. According to the report of an ex-CIA spy that had infiltrated Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, the Islamic government saw Obama’s gesture of peace and negotiations as a sign of weakness.  They also saw the US’s weakness as a chance to stall any serious consequences for their nuclear program and give them time to further enrich their uranium to help bring it up to weapons grade.   Unions LIE. "Recently, a federal court  smacked down  Barack Obama’s union appointees at the National Labor Relations Board for the manner in which they imposed their ambush election scheme. The scheme is, however,  far from dead  as the union-controlled labor board is “ determined to move forward ” with the needless rules. While there is much opposition to the NLRB’s ambush election rules, few have yet to address the underlying issue that makes the scheme unfair to workers and a disaster for America’s union-free workplace and that is:  Unions and their organizers LIE to and deceive workers…ALL THE TIME! What’s worse is that, not only do unions lie to, trick and deceive workers into unionizing,  it’s perfectly legal to do so. With a median time from petition-filing to election, unions have been winning around 60% or more of the elections conducted by the NLRB for about a decade ( unions won 71% in 2011 ). Eager to energize young voters, President Barack Obama is depicting Republicans as obstacles to an affordable college education as he previews an argument he will make on university campuses next week in states crucial to his re-election. "This is a question of values," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address Saturday. "We cannot let America become a country where a shrinking number of people do really well while a growing number of people struggle to get by." Obama wants Congress to extend a law that cut interest rates on a popular federal loan program for low- and middle-income undergraduates.
