                   ACLU: OBAMA HAS QUADRUPLED WARRANTLESS WIRETAPS' " The ACLU released a report this week that shows that under Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder, warrantless wiretapping and monitoring of American's electronic communications is "sharply on the rise." After months of litigation and Freedom of Information Act requests, the ACLU  obtained documents  from the federal government proving that real-time monitoring of electronic communications inside the U.S. has climbed 60 percent since 2009 and far surpasses monitoring under President Bush. The ACLU reports that the Dept. of Justice used "pen register" and "trap and trace" techniques 23,535 times in 2009 and 37,616 times in 2011.                        The Focus on Green Jobs Is Misplaced For a better part of the last decade, President Obama and other Democrats have been hyping the potential of green energy. On top of its environmental benefits, lawmakers promise that the clean energy industry will add millions of jobs to the slow growing economy. However, there have been many difficulties in trying to create these jobs because of contradictory definitions and backward policies that inhibit clean energy growth, says Diana Furchtgott-Roth, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. The Obama administration's attempt at creating sustainable green jobs has resulted in failure: Obama promised to create 5 million jobs over the next 10 years during his 2008 presidential campaign. “Mass Shooting at Empire State Building,” the headlines blared. “Two dead and nine wounded in rampage shooting,” we were told. And these reports about the “mass shooting” almost always included some reference to this “latest mass shooting,” rekindling the debate over gun laws in our country. Even after it became apparent that the “gunman” had probably shot only one person , a former employer who he had threatened a year earlier – and that the rest of the victims were shot by police – the news stories and pundits continued to refer to this “latest mass shooting” and postulating on how politicians would or should respond. "Recently, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) appeared on Chris Matthews' Hardball show and, in discussion about voter ID laws, he said that voting should be as easy as "getting a glass of fresh water." "As the Chicago teachers’ strike continues, we’ve learned that they make  $71-76,000 a year  and they turned down a 16% pay increase, which amounts to $11,360.  They work nine months out of the year, but say that this strike is benefits oriented.  However, given that ABC World News  didn’t even air this story last Sunday  and most of the media, with the exception of CBS, failing to mention the  compensation statistics  in their broadcast – suffice to say that the  media will probably ignore the fact that almost 40% of Chicago’s public school teachers send their kids to private schools.
